Video

It's easy to place the tools that you're already using with students in your PBworks. The Video and Photo plugin allows you to take videos and images from around the web and share them on your workspace. Many teachers use Teachertube to post videos.

 

There are many free sites to record video.  Check out these:

Embed all of the above with the HTML/Java script plugin.

 

There are many free sites to upload existing videos

Use the Youtube or Teacher tub plugin to embed video.  For all other video sites (like vimeo) use the html/java script plug in.

 

 

How to Embed Video:

 

Youtube

This plugin will only accept embed code from YouTube.com.  Codes from any other site will not work in this plugin.  Other videos should be embeded using the html/javascript plugin.

 

  1. First upload your video to youtub.  You must have a youtube account to upload a video to youtube.
  2. On your workspace, go into edit mode on your workspace by clicking the "Edit" tab.
  3. Click the "Insert Plugin" button
  4. Choose "YouTube Video" from the Video & Photo category.
  5. Paste in the embed code provided to you by YouTube.
  6. Click "Preview," then "OK," and now "Save" your workspace page

 



TeacherTube

This plugin will only accept embed code from teachertube.com.  Codes from any other site will not work in this plugin.  Other videos should be embeded using the html/javascript plugin.

 

  1. First upload your video to teachertube.com.  You must register with teachertube to upload your video to their site.
  2. Go into edit mode on your workspace by clicking the "Edit" tab.
  3. Click the "Insert Plugin" button.
  4. Choose "TeacherTube video" from the Video & Photo category.
  5. Paste in the embed code provided to you by TeacherTube.
  6. Check the box in the lower-left corner to authorize the Javascript.
  7. Click "Preview," then "OK," and, finally, "Save" your workspace page.


Upload your video directly to a page on your workspace

Go into edit mode on your workspace by clicking the "Edit" tab. 

  1. Click the "Insert Plugin" button.
  2. Choose "Upload a video" in the Video & Photo category.Browse your computer for a video and click "Open."  This will place the path to the file in to the path field.  Then, check the box to accept the terms of service for the video plugin, and click Submit.  The video upload begins immediately.  Please be patient, depending on the size of the file and your internet connection, this may take awhile.
