Keep your wiki pages well organized!

Use the page information plugin to keep your pages structured and easy to read.

Page Information Plugins

Table of Contents

I use this plugin to make sure that the information on my long pages is easy to find.  Highly recommended!

  1. Go into edit mode on your workspace by clicking the "Edit" tab.
  2. Click the "Insert Plugin" button
  3. Choose "Table of Contents" in the "Page Information" category.
  4. Click "Preview," then "OK," and now "Save" your workspace page.

Include another Page

Including information from one page on a different page is pretty useful.  Say you want your students to work on the wiki and you want your instructions posed on the page as well.  Just create a page with the instructions and have your students use the 'include' plugin to post it on their page.  (Alternatively, you can also use page templates.)

To include another page:

  1. Create a page on your workspace with the content you want to be inserted.
  2. On another page, click the "Insert Plugin" button.
  3. In the "Page information" category, choose "Include another page".
  4. Select the page you want to include.  You may also check the box option to have a border visible around the content.  This is helpful if you want the included content to stand out.
  5. Click Preview, and then click OK.  Then, save the page.
  6. As always, the plugin will appear as a green box in the editor (as shown above), but the content of the included page will display properly while in view mode.

Recent visitors

It's fun for students to know that others are viewing their work (particularly on public workspaces).  The Recent Visitors plugin provides a list of everyone who has visited your page. Here's how to insert this plugin:

  1. Go into edit mode on your workspace by clicking the "Edit" tab.
  2. Click the "Insert Plugin" button.
  3. Choose "Recent Visitors" in the "Page Information" category.
  4. Here, you can choose how many recent visitors the plugin will display.  Set your preference and click Preview.
  5. Then click "OK," and now "Save" your workspace page.

Number of Visitors

Keep a running total of the number of visitors to your page.  Here's how

  1. Go into edit mode on your workspace by clicking the "Edit" tab.
  2. Click the "Insert Plugin" button
  3. Choose "# of Visitors" from the Page Information category.
  4. This is a simple web counter, so there are no options available.  Click "Preview".
  5. Then click "OK," and "Save" your workspace page.
